“Keith is my Xanax”

Had a fun night out with friends….great curry for dinner and then to a new pub (Builders Arms). “Keith is my Xanax” turned out to be the quote of the evening. We promised that we’d share broadly.

A relaxing Christmas Week

After two weeks of traveling we were ready for some relaxation when Christmas arrived. We had planned to do a Christmas weekend pub progressive but instead we visited just two of our favorites. First up was The Castle, across the street from our flat. We booked a Christmas Eve dinner there.

Dublin – Day 2 – the country and the lads

Our second day in Dublin was even better than the first. I had to work until about noon, but then Stef and I went to our friend’s parents’ house for a visit and lunch. The McCarthys pulled out all the stops – we had a wonderful lunch complete with whisky and wine. Colleen’s apple tarts [...]

Happy Christmas!

Have a joyous and festive day.
We seem to be experiencing some issues with our personal emails so don’t be alarmed if any mail you send gets bounced back to you. We’ll let you know when we are back online. Cheers!

Dublin Day 1 – The Brazen Head

This week we were in Dublin for a few days. Neither Stef nor I had been to Ireland before so she jumped at the chance to spend a few days in Dublin especially when I found out that I needed to head over on a business trip. A close friend of ours is from Dublin, [...]

Lisboa – Chapito and Resto

So we’ve been spoiled – two days in Lisboa and two very good dinners. There was a place I wanted to try but it was up on the hill near Castelo San Jorge but that was a ways away. We decided that having a drink at the hotel bar might give us some inspiration. Two [...]

A quick trip to Sintra

We had heard that if you are in Lisboa for a few days, you must go to Sintra. Sintra is a town about 40km northwest of Lisboa; a small town of many castles and palaces. We were torn because we had also heard that Cascais was a great place to visit (a small fishing village [...]

3 days in Lisboa

I just returned from three fantastic days in Lisboa. Lots to tell but first I must get through 600+ images (Lisboa is picturesque). Once I am done with that, the posts will come. Cheers!
